The top selling retail center in the country according to Women’s Wear Daily and playground for socialites, fashionistas and celebrities, Bal Harbour Shops is a glorious open-air mall that is home to 100 flagship stores including Hermès, Gucci, Chanel, Lanvin, Bottega Veneta, Prada, Valentino, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and many more notables.

Founded in 1965 by luxury retail visionary Stanley Whitman, Bal Harbour Shops is family owned and operated and remains true to its heritage of pleasing the most discerning customers from all over the world.

Bal Harbour Shops encompasses two floors of boutiques and charming cafes, lined with palm trees and fountains, promoting a tranquil, zen-like atmosphere. Throughout the year, the Shops serve as a unique venue for various special events ranging from designer trunk shows and product launches to philanthropic festivities – such as Destination: Fashion, the star-studded fundraiser is scheduled for March 3rd 2012.

Specialty Department Stores: Opened in January 1971, Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour has the distinction of being the very first NM out of Texas to open. Saks Fifth Avenue opened in 1976. Their expansion in 1988 created the largest SFA in the state.

RESTAURANTS

Books & Books Café, A reader’s favorite dining spot.

Carpaccio, Bal Harbour Village’s answer to The Ivy in Beverly Hills. A favorite for power lunches and celebrity sightings, the cozy, yet sophisticated Italian eatery specializes in homemade pastas, excellent salads and carpaccios, indoors or al fresco.

La Goulue, replicates an authentic Parisian-style bistro, offering a tantalizing menu of traditional and signature French bistro fare. Many dishes highlight the abundant seafood and delicious fresh produce perfectly suited to the alfresco dining experience.

Makoto, the eponymous restaurant boasts the culinary expertise of Executive Chef Makoto Okuwa.  Joining a renowned collection of restaurants including internationally acclaimed Buddahkan and trendsetting Morimoto, Makoto features a chic, modern design and showcases the elegant and masterful flavors of Japanese cuisine.

Santa Fe News & Espresso, located on the second level, this casual eatery serves sandwiches, soup, salads, desserts and coffee specialties, along side an impressive selection of magazines and newspapers.

Segafredo Zanetti Espresso, reminiscent of a traditional Italian espresso bar, the venue offers an intimate and casual café setting. Located on the second level, the café features a full liquor bar with lounge area and casual outdoor dining. Serves antipastos, salads, pizzas and pastas.

Zodiac at NM, situated on the third floor of Neiman Marcus, this contemporary restaurant offers lunch and dinner and features salads, sandwiches and hot entrees, including its famous popovers.


EVENT SPACE

Bal Harbour Shops is conveniently located across the street from the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, which is set to open next Spring 2012, and near the Sea View Hotel and One Bal Harbour Resort & Spa so meeting planners can take advantage of the proximity and close working relationships between the hotels and event-planners at anchors Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue – to create one-of-a-kind Bal Harbour experiences for their groups. Plus custom events are offered in the Shops’ restaurants and a variety of author events at Books & Books.
